How did I do it?

I have no idea what happened, exactly, but somehow I managed to convince Ben to take me to Washington, DC for the weekend of October 30th. Happy birthday to me! I'm pretty sure this is the only gift I'm getting for a long time. I'm also pretty sure that as the date draws nearer, Ben will begin to glower about spending money. But anyway. You'll see us on the Washington Mall mid-afternoon on that Saturday - I will be attending the Rally to Restore Sanity while Ben will be running for his life at the March to Keep Fear Alive. (Jon Stewart is cooler than Stephen Colbert. Really really.)

We're actually going to be down there for the whole weekend, too. We're staying up in Baltimore, but will be taking the short train ride into DC to attend the rally and see the sights. Unexpected surprise: apparently, most of the attractions in DC are free! Huzzah! That makes our already awesomely cheap trip even cheaper. We may spend some time in Baltimore as well (they have a sick aquarium), depending on what sights we can think of to see there.

So what if I didn't get those Uggs I wanted? This is better, and there's always Christmas!

Baltimore is a beautiful city, and far less touristy than DC. Especially that weekend. Enjoy your time at the rally, but def get around B-town.

Have fun!
